DELAC District English Language Advisory Council

The District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) is a state-mandated advisory committee. Each district with 51 or more English learners, regardless of language, must form a functioning DELAC. The purpose of the DELAC is to advise the Board of Trustees and district staff on programs and services for English learners.

The DELAC shall advise SVUSD on the following:

District English Learner Master Plan

District-wide needs assessment

District program goals and objectives for programs and services for English learners

Plan to ensure compliance with any applicable teacher and/or teacher aide requirements

Review and comment on district reclassification procedures and required written notifications.

DELAC members review and comment on the development or annual update of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
